TMT is “Thermo mechanically treated steel that integrates work hardening and heat treatment into a single process. The benefit of this method is that the bars do not need cold twisting hence show excellent resistance to corrosion. Due to such unique composition, TMT bars show excellent tensile strength, bendability, ductility.
Along with good corrosion resistance and excellent bonding strength with concrete. TMT bars are used as reinforcement in the concrete. Concrete shows good compressive strength but poor tensile strength, which demands for reinforcement
